Navigating the minefield of export compliance under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) can be an intimidating task for many small businesses working with the U.S. Department of Defense. These smaller suppliers, while very successful do not have the financial capabilities of prime contractors to employ legal teams that handle and
scrutinize each scenario that may be affected by ITAR. This Master Class will address methods and best practices for recognizing what will fall under ITAR, then how to set-up a system for compliance, and how to handle the various pitfalls that may be encountered.
Please note this Master Class will not present any legal advice, but rather general information on the topic.
Key areas to be addressed during the Master Class include:
· Licensing · Commodity Jurisdiction Issues
· Enforcement and penalties/fines · Setting up compliance programs
